Who wants to be a Millionaire but with football questions and a penalty shoot out option.

When I saw the format of the game (a quiz with footie questions) I thought great, here's a chance to test my knowledge of the beautiful game.

Basically the game is a football version of Who wants to be a Millionaire.

The graphics are pretty similar and there were no multimedia questions on my phone. The background and screen grabs are nice and the overall feel of the graphics is sort of like a footall results service. That said, there was never really much to do on this front and the penalty shoot out game is graphically pretty basic. When you bow out or go to the next round there are a few nice shots of players or the ball.

There is some sound, a pleasant tune which plays in the menus and a quicker version when you get the answers right. Nothing like the atmospheric music from the Millionaire game though.

The controls are simple but for some reason they were quite unresponsive on my phone. Use the key or D pad to cycle through the answers and the main button, 5 or shoulder button to select the right one. Use 3 to access your 'life lines' and select as normal. On the penalty shoot out you have to use the key pad to direct your shot or save and the longer you press the harder your shot it (you can see a strength bar appear). Easy to use but on my phone it took a while for the answer to be highlighted and often I had to press the button a few times to actually select the answer.

The gameplay is not bad, it's a standard trivia game. The questions range from easy to pretty hard although there is only a central bank of 300 so after a little while memory recognition begins to play a part. The novelty is that after you get past the halfway point, you get an additional lifeline which is a penalty shoot out. The graphics and gameplay is very very basic but it does mean there is some interaction. The lifelines are eerily similar to millionaire, there's a coin toss which gets rid of 2 wrong answers, ask the coach which usually gives you the right answer and also ask the fans (you get four results at the top of the screen) who are not always right.

In terms of lastability, the game is ok, there are 3 cups you have to win, two of which are locked until you complete the first then second. You can also practice the penalty shoot out but there isn't much fun in that in my opinion. It was fun to test my knowledge of football which isn't bad and I'm sure my mates would like to have a go and be arguing over the answers. Overall, it's interesting if you like football like me and want to test your knowledge but if you're not a football fan, the game is probably not for you.
