Anannya Sens Review
Gettin paid gettin paid.
We reviewed the original Hollywood Hospital a while back and if you want to check out the review, you can do so here. It seems like a different type of game with the ephasis on doctor patient relations and paying your staff.
Part 2 is nothing like this. The developers have gone for one of those order management type games where you have to constantly move patients around and upgrade your hospital area to deal with the increased load.
Like the previous version, there are some funny illnesses here and even funnier treatments (I love the one where you have to slap the patient a few times). What's slightly different about this compared to other order management games is that there are mini games involved too as part of the treatment. These are all pretty basic and involve single button presses, but are manic as you have to be quick.
The reason for this is you have patients waiting and you have to direct them to the reception desk, then the doctor, then the treatment room and back to the desk to pay. As the levels increase you get comfier chairs, a couch for the patients to lie on, wards for them to recover in etc. You get the picture.
Thankfully you can tell your patient where to go in advance, but only one step of the route. So you can't program them to do everything and you still have to keep an eye on them. You can buy extra doctors, beds, treatment machines and upgrade them as well so the patients take less time in them (indicated by a little filled circle above their heads which empties and then they can perform the next move).
Keep the patients waiting too long and their green mood bars turn yellow and red. And of course, the worse the patients mood, the less cash they are going to give you. At the end of each level you get a rating for how much cash you got and there are ranks of bronze, silver and gold. It's easy to get gold on the first few levels, but later on you have to be really quick, I always saw all the patients and still only got silver on some levels.
The graphics are very cartoony and larger than life. Sound is pretty funky too. Overall this is a really decent order management game in the casual mode. You can play it with one hand as the controls are pretty easy to get to grips with. The funny looking patients add to the charm. Nothing hugely new about this game but well executed nonetheless.
