Anannya Sens Review
245 levels of addictiveness
Before you get all excited by my tagline, I need to point out that this is not a new game. Not at all. We reviewed Slyder way back when and you can check out our original review here. In fact there's even a review we did of a Windows Mobile game called Super Slyder.
So what's new about this new Super Slyder version? Well, not that much to be honest. The graphics look more similar to the Windows mobile version but with one standard background. There are 245 levels. The music and sound effects are pretty basic. Controls are easy to use and one button not mentioned in the help section is the # key which resets the level. You still have to guide Slyder around to the goal.
So nothing new so far then. In fact a quick check even reveals the latest copyright as dated 2007. Which coincidentally is when the Windows mobile version came out. Now, I'm no Sherlock Holmes but what I think has happened here, is that the distributor has managed to repackage the Windows mobile version for normal handsets.
The number of levels, though large, doesn't take that long to get through. Some of the later levels also seem fairly easy. Now I never played the original but from speaking to my esteemed colleague, that also had enemies, friends, bubblegum, pits, rollers, keys and tiles to contend with. As does this version. The game thankfully saves your progress and your score, although I don't think I would come back to the earlier levels to improve mine, as it's just worth it.
So if you were a huge fan of the original and played it to death, there seems to be nothing new here. If you haven't checked out this game before and fancy an addictive puzzle game that has tons of levels this may be for you.
