Nick's full suite of apps have had more than 4.5 million downloads worldwide since the launch of its first app in February 2009.
"Nickelodeon's parenting, online gaming and kids' entertainment expertise has enabled us to develop successful apps for the iPhone and iPod touch," said Steve Youngwood, executive vice president of Digital, Nickelodeon Kids and Family Group. "Consumers can now expect new Nickelodeon apps--based on our top games, sites, shows and characters like iCarly and Diego-on a continuous basis."
New app "iCarly: Sam's Remote" allows users to turn their iPhone or iPod touch into Sam's remote, and includes iconic sound effects from the show like Sam's insults--voiced by Jennette McCurdy--animations and more. In "Go, Diego, Go: Musical Missions", users can play along with Diego as he uses music to rescue the shy animals of the world. The new Nickelodeon apps are available for $1.99 each from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore/.
The Nickelodeon Kids and Family Group portfolio of digital sites--which serve kids, teens, and parents--focus on its audiences' core activities online: games, community, and video. The group of sites include Nick.com; Nickjr.com; TeenNick.com; Neopets; Shockwave; AddictingGames; and ParentsConnect; among others.
