iPhone and iPod-Touch users do know the problem well from the very beginning: a multitude of apps (up to 176) disperses randomly on up to 11 screens without any possibility to get some order into the system. Now with iTunes 9.0, apps can be arranged more easier between several screens - but without getting more orientation on the iPhone or iPod Touch screen itself.
Two days after the launch of the new iTunes version, a small Austrian company now presents a simple and innovative way to organize apps, bringing some more order into the world of iPhone and iPod Touch - and a more than useful extension to the currently introduced app organization in iTunes 9.0.
AppButler: Paging and App-Indexes for iPhone and iPhone Touch
With the idea to enable a better orientation on the iPhone and iPod touch screen, AppButler offers the possibility to provide the screens with page numbers. In addition, AppButler helps the user to set up an app register right on the screens to organize his apps by categories.
AppButler offers both registers with the 20 official app categories from business through games to productivity and game registers for the known 19 game categories. Page numbers as well as registers are available in several designs and 12 different colours. In this vein the user not only can bring order into the app- jungle, but also is able to configure his screens as individually as he is.
The functionality is more than simple: the user picks page numbers and single app register icons from a set of his choice from AppButler and adds them with the help of safari and the function "add to homescreen" to his iPhone or iPod Touch screen. After this, the user is able to ajust the page numbers and registers like normal app icons.
Directly via iPhone to handle, iTunes 9.0 compatible
Page numbers as well as App-Registers may be directly downloaded and managed with the the iPhone easily. But in particular, the compatibility with the new iTunes 9.0 turns out to be the real advantage and an outstanding extension for the proclaimed app organization. The new iTunes version supports AppButler completely. All page numbers and register icons are shown on the displayed screens and can be organized via drag&drop like conventional iPhone apps.
