Tumblebugs coming to iPhone next month

Connect2Media iPhone portfolio starts to grow

After launching the mobile version of web phenomenon ‘Tumblebugs’ earlier this month, multi-platform publisher, Connect2Media, have announced an August release for the iPhone version of the game.

The announcement coincides with Casual Connect, in Seattle, where Connect2Media will be showcasing their casual credentials with Tumblebugs and an all new, dedicated PC downloadable version of their mobile hit ‘Go! Go! Rescue Squad!’

‘Tumblebugs’ has been a remarkable hit on the internet with well over 35 million downloads or free-plays to date it is a true ‘mass market’ product. The game has topped download charts on all of the major games sites including Yahoo!, Big Fish Games, Shockwave, AOL and Oberon and spent four months in Real Arcade’s top ten. The game’s hit status has created international demand seeing it translated into numerous languages.

“Tumblebugs is a classic ‘casual game’ in that it is accessible, intuitive and a joy to play.” said Greg Robinson, Connect2Media COO, “The casual market is one where we feel we can build upon the success we have had on mobile with games and franchises like ‘Go! In Tumblebugs game the ‘Black Bug Empire’ are marching lines of good Bugs underground to be enslaved forever. The player launches vividly coloured bugs at the line of prisoners, when three or more of the same coloured bugs are matched they are saved. The simplicity of the gameplay, simply aim and fire, makes it easy for anyone to pick up and play and hard to put down. Further depth comes in the form of power-ups, two different gameplay modes and the games 78 levels of un-put-downable action. The iPhone version features 3.0 enhancements including access to players music libraries and is being created by Tag Games, who have already scored a major App Store hit with ‘Car Jack Streets’.
