First off, I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Easter. While I am not a religious person, any holiday in which chocolate is involved should be celebrated in full.
Well, the new front end has been up for a week now and I think it's working really well. The logo is also gonna be up soon. We have an initial draft but we're still messing around with the colours. And what do you all think of our funky new competition entry form? We thought it would be nice to make it easy to find as, although I'm sure you all love reading my G.O.N., if you're in a rush then it should make it more simple for you all. And this week we're calling on you to tell us what you want to see on the site, and how you think we can improve it. We really do listen to feedback from our users!
Onto the game front. While people are still playing Nate Adams and the Arctic Challenge, we have some cool games coming your way soon. First there's the next instalment of the brilliant
Yetisports series,
Yetisports 5. It looks set to be another great game, do these guys ever get it wrong? And after that we have a cool puzzle game called
Super Yum Yum. It looks simple, but believe me, it's very very addictive. There are also two more games coming soon, a shooting game called
True Crime and a racing game called Track Furious.
I have a few things to rant about this week. The topic is lifts, there has been no end of stupidity and comedy in these places. I don't understand when people are getting in lifts why they have to press the button and then stand in front of them so no-one else can press them. Don't they realise what they're doing or are they so self-aggrandising that they are happy for people to ask them to press the buttons or tap them on the shoulder to get them to move. Any more of this and it won't be tapping from me, I'll have to use my jedi mind trick and maybe then they'll be afraid and never do it again. And the silence in lifts is more unbearable than the tube, people quickly glance at each other then decide to look down to see if their shoelaces are tied. The furtive stares don't stop there either as I'm sure you all do what I do and try and work out who is getting off on which floor if you get in the lift late. And worst of all, when someone lets one go, their immediate reaction of stepping away from another person to divert blame. That's just plain wrong and cowardly as well. We all know it was you! Just own up. Lastly on the lift subject, when I was at university, there was a phone in one of the lifts. I always wanted to try and order some pizza from it, but never had the nerve. "Hello? I'd like a Pepperoni please, yeah, I'm currently on the third floor about to go down to the second". And if they did try and deliver, most places have that if they don't deliver in half an hour it's free promise, what's to stop you from just going up and down between the floors so they can't find you?
Competition time and thanks again for all your entries. The answer to last weeks question was the supremely talented Wesley Snipes in Rising Sun. Well done to all of you who got it right and the winner is Andrew Thomas from Peckham. A Nintendo DS with Mario DS is winging its way to you. That is a very underrated film and not only does it have a stellar cast (Snipes, Sean Connery and Harvy Keitel) it has one of my favourite actors, the severely underrated Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa.
As for this weeks quote, let's try and make it a bit simpler for you all. Which film was this from
"There has never been a more wretched hive of scum and villainy"
Is it from
A. Stargate
B. Star Wars
C. Starman
