Mobile Game Faqs Awards 2005

Best Graphics Award

Graphics. The first thing we look for in a game (sorry, couldn't resist). This is a very hard category as almost all developers try to focus on their graphics as much as possible as this what a lot of people will remember or concentrate on the most. And we've had some very nice looking games of 2005. 2D, 3D, top down, bottom up and forced perspective and even first person point of view. Suffice it to say, graphics have really improved lately and even mediocre games now have reasonable graphics. We thought long and hard about this category and argued on it the most as at the end of the day, everybody has different tastes. So what we've done is try and come up with a selection of the best types of graphics that we've seen, stuff that really suits the game and genre. A few shout outs have to go to King Kong and King of Fighters (see the Special Mention category), close but no cigar although King Kong with a cigar would be a funny image. Onto the finalists then:

Finalists:

Asphalt: Urban GT 2

Smooth slick graphics and customising cars, what more could you want?

Conflict: Global Storm

Amazing graphics and a huge leap in the Conflict series.

Pink Panther - Rare Pink

A really great conversion that manages to capture the essence of the cartoon perfectly!

Playman Summer Games 2

The Playman series evolved into a graphical masterpiece with this game and made the most from non-3D specific handsets

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones

Stylish, fast and acrobatics that would make Spider-man jealous.

And the Winner...

Best Graphics

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones

It was a very tough choice but Prince of Persia - The Two Thrones shades it. Playstation quality graphics with lush colours and gravity defying moves. Attention to all the little details really makes a difference!
